Sr. Mary Magdalene
August 13, 2009
Sr. Mary Magdalene
returns for her second year as Kindergarten teacher at St.
Anthony’s. Having taught for 30 years, she also has a B.A. degree
in English, and certification in Montessori, the Spalding Writing
to Read Program and Level 1 of Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. She
loves to provide multi-learning experiences in the classroom, which
includes music, movement and hands-on learning along with a
traditional classroom setting.
As a School Sister of St. Francis, she is devoted to helping
children fall in love with God and with school.
For relaxation she loves to watch movies, play the cello, read and
do hand weaving on a floor loom.
Sr. Mary Pia has been a Kindergarten Aide at St. Anthony’s for 12
years and continues in that position this year. She is a School
Sister of St. Francis in Panhandle, TX. She grew up in Albuquerque,
New Mexico and joined the convent in 1973. She has been a Sister
for 36 years.
Sister enjoys working with the children in the classroom and
imparting the faith to them, in and out of the classroom.
I enjoy knitting, watching movies and recreating with my
sisters.
